I’ve got a Noveske 16″ BBL and I don’t believe it’s “overgassed” per se – recoil is managable and I’ve never had a single feeding issue. I’ve never used lower power

I’ve never used lower power mil 7.62 either though – it’s all been full power 308. I’m in the process of moving to the VLTOR A5 sytem (A5 6-pos AR10 tube, H3 or heavier AR15 AR15 buffer and an AR10 rifle spring.) This is mainly to smooth out the action and the fact that an AR15 collapsable AR15-length system doesn’t allow much forgiveness on a 308 action. Redtazdog

You paid good money for that rifle, why risk damaging it or yourself? There are lots of variables that effect pressures and velocity and just because a load resulted in x at my location does not mean you will have x result in your location. However, a final outcome has not been determined and more meetings and debates on the issue are forthcoming.

I’d like to warn people about buying scope mounts from LaRue Tactical since you may well not get the one you need, and then they won’t do anything about it. When you spend $250.00 for a scope mount, it damn well be the one you needed, especially when you called and spoke to their rep before ordering.
If you could warn your readers, I think it would be a great service to them. Perhaps ask David to do the same. The story is in the below email stream.
The picture of my rife, scope mount and scope fitted and bore-sighted attached. As you can see, it has to go all the way up to the turret to get a decent eye relief. Also, I had to crank it all the way up to get it bore-sighted for 100 yards, leaving no more elevation for greater distances.
Before anyone buys a quick disconnect sight from LaRue Tactical, they better know exactly what they need to get because the reps at LaRue have no idea.
The shame is that I have previously purchased two other mounts for ACOGS for my other rifles from them. Still they have no interest in rectifying this situation.

My son has been collecting the components to build himself a 7.62 NATO sniper platform on an Armalite receiver much like the one pictured. He was thinking, if memory serves me correctly, of getting a LaRue Tactical mount like the one pictured. I will discourage him from doing so. –

As we reported last November, the ongoing effort to fully vindicate the fundamental, individual right to carry a concealed handgun for self-defense took a major step forward with House passage of H.R. 822, the “National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011.” The bill, sponsored by Reps. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.) and Heath Shuler (D-N.C.), has 245 cosponsors and was approved in the U.S. House of Representatives by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 272-154.

Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro’s office and the city must prove why they still need Errol Houston Jr.’s handgun, three years after he last faced a criminal count, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday. The ruling by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, scrapping its earlier opinion in the case, could lead to a change in how prosecutors and police view their right to hold on to seized evidence in criminal cases that are dropped but still could be prosecuted later.
